1. What size do I need?
These great tools come in several different sizes, to accommodate both different sizes of people as well as differently targeted stability ball exercises. For instance, a larger stability ball is good for stretching your back and for challenging balancing poses, whereas a small stability ball is great to be used for such exercises as wall squats and one-legged floor squats (you sit lower and it is much easier to rest your leg, while still providing the challenge of balancing and remaining stable throughout the range of exercise).

The body size is needed for the right size of an exercise ball. For a seatball you need the length of the lower leg. There is a special feature when calculating the size of the sitting ball. You must add 10 cm to the length of the lower leg. We have compiled what you have to look for „here“.
In order to buy the right ball, we will provide you with a ball-sized calculator to help you determine the size you need. You will find the calculator on the right side or below on mobil. Instructions can be found „here“.

2. What are the criteria for space safety?
In principle it is possible that a exercise or sitting ball can burst. In normal use or even with a little more stress, the ball is not as light as the material is very stretchy. The ball loses its air rather than it bursts.
However, the ball can burst by strangers. These are e.g. sharp objects or chemical substances that attack the surface.
Space-proof balls prevent further tearing in the event of damage. As a result, the air can only escape very slowly. This is achieved by a thick skin of up to 3 mm. Also certain materials increase the space safety.
Another criterion is the weight. As a rule, the space safety is 100 kg. Very high-quality exercise balls are even loadable up to 500 kg.
Space-proof exercise balls are usually referred to as burst proof, burst resistant or anti-burst. In addition, however, the material is also decisive. You can see the difference in a video on this page.

3. Do I need to clean the exercise ball?
Clean the ball with clear water and a cloth. If stubborn dirt is on the ball, however, you can remove it with dilute cleaning alcohol. Under no circumstances you should use sharp objects or chemical cleaners such as color dilution. Pure alcoholic cleaners (not to be confused with dilute cleaning alcohol) dry the material and leave the material porous.
Tip: You can also clean the ball with hand washing soap. Allow the soap to soak for a few minutes, then rub the surface with a wet sponge.

4. What material does an exercise ball consist of?
When purchasing, you should make sure that the exercise ball or sitting ball is made of a high quality tested material. This prevents it from accidentally bursting. The stronger the skin, the more secure is the ball.
Usually the ball consists of PVC. Space-proof balls with an anti-burst system usually consist of the composite material Crylon.

5. What are the possibilities for the exercise ball or the sitting ball?
As the name suggests, the exercise ball can be used for exercise and the sitting ball as a seat. Both balls promote movement and strengthen the back muscles. How to use the exercise ball can be found in our exercises.

6. What is the difference between an exercise ball and a pezziball?
The Pezziball is the best representative of the exercise ball. The name is a word mark of the Italian company Ledragomma. Since 1950, this has been producing exercise balls.

7. How do I get the air out of the ball?
Do not use sharp objects to open the valve or pull the plug out of the air inlet. Doing so will damage the ball only. If the plug is too tight, use a blunt object, such as a coffee spoon.

8. How long can I sit on a sitting ball?
As long as you have no complaints, there is no reason not to sit on the ball all day. From the manufacturers, however, we recommend to use the sitting ball only 1 to 2 hours.
If discomfort is present, such as damage to the disc, use the ball several times daily.

9. What is the difference between a sitting ball and an exercise ball?
The balls differ only in their use, sitting balls can be used as exercise balls. However, exercise balls should not be used as a sitting ball because sitting balls have extended features. For example, a seat should be vibration damped and, above all, must have the necessary space safety. You can sit on a sitting ball to strengthen your balance and your back muscles, and use an exercise ball to perform various exercises that stimulate and promote the whole apparatus.
But there are also balls suitable for gymnastics and for sitting.
Apart from that, there are no other differences between the seat and the exercise ball regarding form, color and quality.
